FOR THE LOVE OF COOKING THEATRE
Featuring some of the biggest name chefs from Australia and overseas including Miguel Maestre, Candice Brown, Siba Mtongana and Lorraine Pascale. This theatre gave visitors the chance to learn tips and tricks from some of the best in the business.
We threw out the rule book and gave some of the baking world’s most creative minds carte blanche to recreate some of their craziest creations live on stage. From Christmas Tree cakes to spiders and a sugary hot dog they didn’t disappoint.
HEALTHY BAKING THEATRE
Cake and desserts invariably conjure images of sugar and overindulgence, but you can have your cake and eat it too when it comes to healthy baking! Healthy baker, Rowie Dillon, demonstrated how to create mouthwatering treats without the guilt throughout both shows using exhibitor products that were gluten free, lactose free, dairy free and diabetic friendly!
CAKE DECORATING THEATRE
The Cake Decorating Theatre was home to international cake artists from Australia, the US and the UK. Audiences learnt how to ice Rudolph cookies, create buttercream flowers and paint with cocoa butter and more!
CLASSES & WORKSHOPS
MAKE & TAKE CLASSES
The hugely popular Make & Take classes returned in 2018 under the expert guidance of Michelle Smith and Michelle Hanley. These bite-sized, free to attend classes gave visitors the chance to decorate their own creations to take away… or eat on the spot!
The Cake Bake & Sweets Show teamed up with Le Cordon Bleu and Callebaut to create a masterclass devoted to all things chocolate. These free to attend demonstrations proved to be a huge hit and a great addition to the show.
ART OF CAKE
Presented by LOYAL Bakeware and supported by the Cake Decorator’s Guild of NSW and the Cake Decorators Association of Victoria, the Art of the Cake remains the richest cake competition in the southern hemisphere.
